The Bluetooth
feature allows portable radios to communicate with Motorola-proprietary
wireless accessories such as a wireless
earpiece or Smart
Key Fob (see the Smart Key Fob
Keystone Concept), as well as a variety of COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf)
Bluetooth devices, such as headsets, barcode readers, environmental sensors,
cameras, and finger print readers. The radio also supports a PAN (personal
area network) access point, providing IPv4-based networking capabilities
for connected Bluetooth devices, such as a PC. Additionally this PAN capability
makes it possible to perform CPS
programming of the radio via the "Bluetooth" Communication
Method. Bluetooth allows voice and / or data to be transmitted and
received over short ranges.
